THE GLASS TREE MISSION

The GlassTree’s goal is to offer a ‘hand-up’ to tenants by providing a
clean, safe, healthy, affordable residence so that they can focus on
working, thriving, and becoming self-sufficient. Having affordable
housing will allow tenants to concentrate on reestablishing
independence, confidence, re-acclimating themselves to society, and
restoring positive family relationships.  Our mission is to help reduce
the rate of recidivism of ex-offenders in order to aid them in
reestablishing their livelihood as productive citizens.

Who We Are

The GlassTree, founded in 2014 by sisters Ronnie and Venita, is intended to provide a temporary, but stable, housing
environment for ex-offenders and homeless men. Tenants have a place to call home, as they transition back into
society and self-sufficiency.

After several years of volunteering in various Civil Rights organizations and seeing the need for transitional housing, Ronnie set out to make this need a reality. Passionate about giving back to the community, Ronnie has dedicated time and effort to making The Glass Tree an affordable and comfortable home to those in need of housing. With over 25 years experience in the Information Technology field, Ronnie brings a technical and common-sense approach to providing housing for others. When asked what motivates her, Ronnie responded; ‘The criminal justice system is filled with problems and if I can do something to help just one person, then it’s worth it’.

Ronnie GlassFounder & CEO

Always a champion for the underdog, I have a passion for the homeless and indigent populations. It is my belief that by providing a support system to men seeking to improve their circumstances, this allows them to begin the process of reintegration into society. Some people may have felt forced to commit crimes in order to survive because they lived off the street. It is my hope that The GlassTree will give men who felt helpless, a sense that all is not hopeless and that with a little effort, their lives can change for the better.
